Atlantic Patrol (North): Caribbean hurricane-season guard ship HMS Trent
The Royal Navy sends a patrol ship to the Caribbean each year for counter-narcotics work and to support British Overseas Territories in hurricane season, which runs from June to November. HMS Trent was announced for this role in May 2026, with a visit to New Orleans first. In autumn 2026 she was on station there. She ran disaster-relief preparation with Turks and Caicos, the Cayman Islands, the British Virgin Islands and Montserrat. She also carried out drone trials with 700X Naval Air Squadron.
